Our Story
A-Patch Farms was born from gratitude, resiliences, and the life changing bond a horse and her person. Growing up, I faced significant medical challenges and underwent more than 80 surgeries. During some of the most difficult moments of my life, my horse. Zena, became my source of hope. She gave me a reason to keep fighting, something to look forward to. and reminded we that there was always a brighter tomorrow. She gave me a second chance at life.
Zena gave me I knew I wanted to spend my life doing, giving horses the same second chance she had given me, that dream became A -Patch Farms a place where horses are given the opportunity to heal, learn, and find loving forever homes. Every horse that comes through our program is treated with patience, compassion, and respect because we believe every horse deserves to be understood before being judged.
The name A-Patch Farms is also a tribute to my family's history. The original business was built by my grandparents on this land and was called A-Patch Orchards. By carrying the "A-Patch" name forward, we are honored to continue their legacy while creating a new chapter centered around horses, education, and helping both horses and people grow together.
Today, A-Patch Farms is a family- owned equine business dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating training, and thoughtfully matching horses with the right homes.
Our work is guided by evidence-based Equitation Science principles and connection-based training, helping horses gain confidence while building trusting partnerships with people.
